PP+PE Plisse Mesh FAQ

PET 26x24 Mesh FAQ

Window Screen Questions Answered by FRS

This page answers the most common questions about PET 26x24 mesh window screens from FRS (Haining Yiheng Textile Co., Ltd.). If your question is not listed here, contact our sales team directly.

Q1. What is PET 26x24 mesh?

PET 26x24 mesh is a flat-woven window screen made of PET polyester monofilament. It contains 26 warp threads and 24 weft threads per inch, with filament diameters of 0.175 mm and 0.135 mm. It is used in sliding window screens and roll-up screens to physically block mosquitoes and insects while maintaining visibility and airflow.

Q2. What do the numbers 26 and 24 mean?

They are the mesh count: 26 threads per inch in the warp (vertical) direction and 24 threads per inch in the weft (horizontal) direction. A count of 26 x 24 offers a good balance between insect blocking and air permeability for standard window screens.

Q3. What are the physical specifications?

The main specifications are: weight 47 ± 2 g/m2, width 0.6 - 3 m (stock width 0.8 - 1.5 m), roll length 50 m, and filament diameters 0.175 mm x 0.135 mm. The mesh is flat woven, masterbatch solution-dyed in black as standard, and supplied without any coating. Custom colors are available on request.

Q4. How long does PET 26 mesh last?

About 5 years of normal use in window screens. This is based on 500 hours of accelerated weathering testing, which corresponds to roughly 5 years of outdoor exposure. The material shows no oxidation, shrinkage or deformation at up to 95 °C.

Q5. Is PET 26 mesh flame retardant?

PET 26 mesh has low flammability. It complies with FMVSS-302 and can delay the spread of fire, which adds a safety margin in window and door applications. It is not a non-combustible material, so please follow local regulations for high-risk installations.

Q6. Does it block mosquitoes?

Yes. The 26 x 24 weave physically blocks mosquitoes and small insects at the window opening. Because the protection is physical, it does not depend on chemicals or coatings and remains effective for the life of the screen.

Q7. Does the mesh shrink or deform in the sun?

In normal outdoor use, no. The heat shrinkage is no more than 0.1% below 50 °C, and the material stays stable without oxidation, shrinkage or deformation at up to 95 °C. Weather resistance of the material is verified according to ISO 4892-3:2016.

Q8. What widths and colors are available?

Standard width range is 0.6 - 3 m, with stock width of 0.8 - 1.5 m and a standard roll length of 50 m. Black is available from stock; custom colors can be produced on request. Please confirm width, color and quantity with our sales team.

Q9. Where can PET 26 mesh be used?

It is suitable for sliding window screens, roll-up and roller screens, door and window insect screens, and ventilation panels. For hinged casement windows, the folding and bending stress of the mesh should be evaluated with our sales team before installation.

Q10. How is it packaged and shipped?

Standard default packaging or carton packaging with a paper tube core inside, to prevent deformation during transport. Please confirm packaging details with our sales team before placing an order.

Q11. What is the MOQ and do you offer samples?

Samples, MOQ and lead time details vary by order. Please contact our sales team directly to discuss your specific requirements and we will provide a tailored response.

PP+PE Plisse Mesh 20x20 FAQ | FRS

PP+PE Plisse Mesh FAQ

Pleated Screen Questions Answered by FRS

This page answers the most common questions about PP+PE Plisse Mesh 20x20 for trackless folding screen doors and windows from FRS (Haining Yiheng Textile Co., Ltd.). If your question is not listed here, contact our sales team directly.

Q1. What is PP+PE plisse mesh?

PP+PE plisse mesh is a pleated screen mesh woven from PP+PE composite monofilament yarns in plain weave construction. It contains 20 warp and 20 weft threads per inch with a filament diameter of 0.19 mm. It is used for trackless folding screen doors and windows to physically block mosquitoes and insects while maintaining visibility and airflow, with light transmission of over 70%.

Q2. What does the mesh count 20 x 20 mean?

It is the mesh density: 20 threads per inch in the warp (vertical) direction and 20 threads per inch in the weft (horizontal) direction. A count of 20 x 20 offers a good balance between insect blocking and air permeability for screen doors and windows.

Q3. What are the physical specifications?

The main specifications are: fabric weight 50 ± 2 g/m2, width 1.2 - 3.7 m, board length 30 m (25 m for 15/16 mm fold heights), filament diameter 0.19 mm, fold height 14 - 25 mm. The mesh is plain woven, color masterbatch yarn-dyed, with black and gray as standard colors, and supplied without any coating. Custom colors are available on request.

Q4. How long does PP+PE plisse mesh last?

About 5 years of normal use in screen doors and windows. Color fastness to light is Level 4.0, so it does not fade easily in daily use or routine cleaning.

Q5. Is it really a pleated (plisse) screen?

Yes. The mesh is pleat-formed with a fold height of 14-25 mm. The pleats are not easy to break, with high resiliency and no bulging, supporting repeated daily push-and-pull for smooth screen operation.

Q6. Does it block mosquitoes?

Yes. The 20 x 20 weave physically blocks mosquitoes and small insects at the opening. Because the protection is physical, it does not depend on chemicals or coatings and remains effective for the life of the screen.

Q7. Does the mesh shrink or deform in the sun?

In normal outdoor use, no. The heat shrinkage is no more than 0.1% below 50 °C, and the material stays dimensionally stable at high or low temperatures, keeping the screen flat and neat after installation.

Q8. What widths, fold heights and colors are available?

Standard width range is 1.2 - 3.7 m, standard fold height 14 - 25 mm, and standard board length 30 m (25 m for 15/16 mm fold heights). Black and gray are available from stock; custom colors can be produced on request. Please confirm width, fold height, color and quantity with our sales team.

Q9. Where can PP+PE plisse mesh be used?

It is mainly used for trackless folding screen doors and trackless screen windows, and can adapt to casement, sliding and roller-type window structures. It also suits door and window insect screens and ventilation panels in residential and commercial buildings. For special structures, please evaluate the fitting with our sales team before ordering.

Q10. How is it packaged and shipped?

Carton packing with the mesh rolled on paper tubes, to prevent deformation during transport. Please confirm the packaging preference with our sales team before placing an order.

Q11. Is there a minimum order or sample service?

Please contact our sales team at sales@yhwindowscreen.com for sample requests, order details and delivery schedules. We will confirm MOQ and lead time for your specific specification.
